I'm New
What What makes New Covenant Church different?
Although every Christian church should hold to the same Gospel and major doctrines, it’s also true that God designed every church to be somewhat different from each specifically because people are different from other people. We are an average sized church (average church in America=70-80) but have people varying from the college life stage to married with (many) kids life stage. We are a Gospel-centered, missional church where we value relationships and being authentic about our faith, doubts, strengths and weaknesses. Preaching is expositional, conservative, but conversational and relevant. Worship varies from ancient hymns to modern worship. Above all, we desire a grace based relationship with God, not rituals and ‘religion’.
I’m new and I feel uncomfortable!
Don’t be alarmed, for most people, being a visitor or guest is usually a difficult or uncomfortable experience. For that reason, please try to come around 2pm; we have friendly people who know exactly how you may feel (they were new as well at one point!) and who would love to welcome you. Although we begin worship at 2:15, it would give us an opportunity to get to know you, show you around, describe what happens after worship and connect you to people in your own life stage.
Is this only for Koreans?
Admittedly, mostly, even though we do have Chinese members as well. However, although we may be ethnically Korean, we are culturally American. Most importantly, however, we do recognize that God is a God over all nations and all people and that His plan for the church is to be a place of gathering of all ethnicities and cultures. In that respect, particularly if you are NOT asian, it would be our blessing to have you come and join our community of faith.
How do I get connected? Should I be connected?
We do not believe that being a Sunday Christian is spiritually healthy. On the contrary, Scripture indicates that believers are called to have lives which are intrinsically blended with others’ lives. We therefore encourage you to check out our ministry opportunities and LIFE group pages and see how you can get involved and connected to others by serving and attending one of our local small groups.
Church in Progress and Why You Matter
At the end of the day, we know we are a church in progress. We have weaknesses and strengths and do some things well and other things need much improvement. But then again, if we were perfect, we probably wouldn’t need Jesus and would become a rather arrogant religious bunch. We do want you to know that we are a church in progress because only through individuals as yourself becoming a part of our church can we hope to grow into a church worthy of our Savior.
